Submission Guidelines

Before reading the guidelines, please check out our Are We A Good Fit? page.

We prefer original manuscripts that have not previously been published. Query letters, manuscripts and proposals may be sent via e-mail to: submissions@getgroovypublishing.com. A single Word document or PDF sent as an email attachment is preferred.

All submissions must include the following:

1. Cover letter containing a brief description of the body of work and package contents.

2. A description of the market, full market comparison, and complete analysis of why someone would want to read the book.

3. A list of comparable authors and why your book adds to the information that is already in print.

4. A brief summary of your background and credentials in light of the subject matter.

5. The first three chapters or 50 pages. Do not submit your entire manuscript.

6. Submissions must be in English, 12-point Times Roman font, double-spaced with 1-inch margins.

7. Please make sure you include a table of contents where applicable as well as permissions and citations.

8. Include a list of data including the total word count for the proposed manuscript, and the following contact information: Full Name, Pen Name, Mailing Address, Phone, E-Mail and Website (if you have one).

* * Multiple submissions will not be entertained. All submissions that fit the above guidelines are reviewed within 10-business days. A representative will contact you with feedback once your query and chapters have been reviewed. We may request to see the rest of your manuscript before accepting it so please be sure to have a complete, well-edited body of work before you begin the query process. If mailing, send copies of your material and keep the originals for your records. If you wish to have any material returned, include a self-addressed envelope with appropriate postage. Otherwise, materials will not be returned. If desired, include a self-addressed, stamped blank postcard for acknowledgement of receipt of materials. Submission of unsolicited materials is done at the author's risk of loss or damage.
